UV Cured Resin
Overview
Single component resins that are rapidly cured by sunlight or any source of UV light.
Suitable for use up to 3mm thick (UV light may not penetrate thicker layers adequately to cure the resin).
Use as a clear resin or include only light or translucent colouring products (UV light may not penetrate strongly coloured resin adequately to cure the resin). The following pigment types are highly translucent and thus ideal for this resin:
- Cosmetic Mica Based Glitter
- Cosmetic Diamond Pearlescent Pigments
- Interference Pearlescent Pigments.
These resins are not certified for food contact applications and should be used for small resin applications such as jewellery.
High viscosity (low flow / thick) resins.
Sources of UV Light and Examples of Curing Time:
UV Bulbs that we sell (4-8 minutes).
Sunlight on a sunny day (5-10 minutes).
Sunlight on a cloudy day (10-40 minutes).
Nail curing UV lamps are also suitable.
Curing is faster with more powerful UV lights and with closer proximity to the UV light source.
