- Used on human skin to mark people for some purpose.
- Add to crop or fruit spray solutions to identify spray coverage.
Properties of this UV stain
- When applied diluted as recommended, the dry residual is invisible in normal light but glows a bright bluish white colour under UV light. The glow effect is best viewed in a relatively dark environment.
- This product is safe for food contact and for skin contact. It is not approved as food grade so should not be ingested. This should be taken into account when spraying crops or fruits. The spray is safe on the outside of a fruit skin that gets removed before it is eaten i.e. it has no harmful ingredients that will penetrate through the skin.
- The UV active ingredient is not stable in sunlight so for exterior applications it should be viewed within 48 hours. The UV effect may, however, last much longer especially on fruits that are in the shade. Bear this in mind if fruit processing inspections involve viewing items under UV light,
- On skin, the glow is visible under UV light after 48 hours and numerous washes.
Dilution
This product is concentrated and gets diluted with a lot of water prior to use. Mixing into water is very simple and requires only a gentle stir.
Our suggested dilution ratio is 0.5%. See examples below:
- Add 20 litres of water to 100ml UV Skin Stain
- Add 200 litres water to 1 litre UV Skin Stain
- Add 1000 litres water to 5 litres UV Skin Stain
This high amount of dilution makes this product an economical option.
