Obsidian Black Small Tumbled Stones
Obsidian Black is formed by the rapid cooling of volcanic lava. No crystallization occurs and the stone has glasslike characteristics. All our other stones contain a crystalline structure (macro-crystalline or cryptocrystalline). Obsidian is different in that its structure is non-crystalline.
Black stones that have been tumbled to develop a smooth, glossy finish.
Description of Obsidian Black
These stones have a uniform black colour but are quite translucent so can look more like stained grey glass. The degree of translucent nature varies from stone to stone with some stones being more opaque.

Small stones are ideal for use in resin art.
