Aluminium Bright Silver Pigment
Aluminium Bright Silver Powder for use in Resins and Water-based Paints.
Gives the a brightest shimmering silver effect in resin. Supplied as an easy to stir-in powder.
This powdered aluminium has been surface coated to make it compatible with many mediums including resins and water-based paints.
It creates a liquid silver effect that can't be achieved with pearlescent pigments. While we do have a silver pearlescent pigment (called Techo-Silver), this real metal pigment gives an even brighter, shinier effect. It is expensive as every tiny particle has been coated, but when you require the absolute best possible metal effects then this pigment is for you.
This is a pigment that we use in many of our metallic paints as it generates excellent opacity and creates an unrivaled metallic effect that cannot be achieved without it.
Using this pigment in resin
In resin you need only add a small amount of this pigment. 2-3% of this powder is adequate to give thin layers a shimmering bright silver appearance. While it is expensive, you do not need to use very much.
Very easy to stir into resin. As with most pigment powders, the particles may tend to settle while the resin cures but it does not have a high settling tendency.
Avoid breathing dust and caution
This pigment generates dust when handled. Care should be taken not to breathe the dust (careful handling will reduce dust generation). Use a fabric dust mask that you can buy at any hardware store. If handling larger quantities (more than normal arts and crafts requirements) then a dust extraction system is required.
Dusts of this powder in air can be flammable at certain concentrations. In small quantities there is no significant risk but avoid generating excess dust and don't use the powder near an open heat source. This product cannot be air freighted (for road freight only). Being coated aluminium it is less flammable than normal aluminium powder.
Keep out of reach of children
All our products should be kept out of reach of children under 5 years and anybody who may tend to place items or liquids in their mouths should be supervised. Even packing can become a choking hazard.
