Antique Gold Real Metal Pigment

This pigment is obviously not gold powder but it is a real metal pigment that is a blend of real copper and zinc metal powders.
As the pigment consists only of real metals, it has a very high lustre. The lustre of real metal pigments is generally higher than that of pearlescent pigments. The real metal effect is especially beautiful in resins.

Antique Gold is a gold colour that lacks the yellowness of "new gold". It can be pictured as a colour between bright gold (new gold) and bronze.
Pure gold (24 carat gold) doesn't change colour on aging but due to its softness, few applications of pure gold exist. Gold alloys such as 9 to 18 carat golds can develop a grey to black surface tarnish over time. The name 'Antique Gold' is used because many people look for a gold colour that is not very yellow and imagine that this is what gold will look like after hundreds of years. 'Antique Gold' and 'Old Gold' are often used to name colours that are darker, less yellow and slightly redder than pure gold or new gold.
This pigment is suitable for use in resins, oil-based and water-based mediums.

This pigment is lightfast and will not fade over time when present in dry mediums such as paints or resins. When not secured in a medium (such as resin or paint) and if exposed to liquid water, the pigment can slowly turn a greenish colour. This is because the surface of the copper particles oxidise to form patina which is often greenish. . ,
