Red Jasper Small Tumbled Stones – Matt
The other tumbled stones that we sell are glossy. These are opaque red stones that have been semi-tumbled to develop a rounded shape with smooth, matt finish. Semi-tumbling retains the natural stone appearance while creating a smooth rounded stone shape.
Jasper, an aggregate of microgranular quartz and/or chalcedony and other mineral phases, is an opaque, impure variety of silica, usually red, yellow, brown or green in colour. Unlike agate, jasper is opaque and light does not shine through it. Jasper is usually multi-coloured, spotted or banded but uniform coloured jasper, such as this red jasper, does occur.
Description of Red Jasper
This Red Jasper is a rich brick-red coloured stone. The colour is uniform and the stones do not have any other significant features.
The red colour of these stones is derived from the inclusion of iron (III) oxide (Fe2O3).
Semi-tumbling retains the natural stone appearance (which is matt, not glossy) while creating a smooth rounded stone shape.

Size Small 2: Roundish and flattish stones 10-18mm with average length about 13mm (Slightly small than our average Small 2 sized stones).
These are ideal for use in resin art.
Keep out of reach of children
