Snow Flake Epidote Small Tumbled Stones – Glossy
Beautiful opaque stones that are yellow green to pistachio green in colour with some white patches. These stones have been tumbled to develop a smooth, glossy finish.
Epidote is a silicate mineral but has a complex chemical formula, Ca2(Al2,Fe)(SiO4)(Si2O7)O(OH). In simple terms it forms as a replacement of other minerals in rocks that undergo changes.
In these rocks, epidote is often associated with amphiboles, feldspars, quartz, and chlorite. It occurs as replacements of mineral grains that have been altered by metamorphism. It is frequently found in veins that cut granite.
Green Epidote is also one of the two minerals present in our ukanite rough and tumbled stones.
Longest dimension is 5mm-15mm with average length about 9mm.
These are ideal for use in resin art.
