Rose Quartz Small Tumbled Stones

The chemical formula of quartz is SiO2 (as it is a form of crystalline silica) and it has a trigonal crystal structure. Some quartz varieties form crystals with a six-sided prism at each end (or at one end if the other end is attached to a substrate). Quartz is common in both macrocrystalline and cryptocrystalline forms. Rose Quartz does not form large individual crystals with flat faces so if you see large crystal-shaped rose quartz for sale then the shape has been cut out of a large piece.

Rose Quartz is a form of macrocrystalline quartz with individual crystals fused together is a way that makes them indistinguishable from one another. Rose quartz does not develop large individual crystals that many other quartz varieties do. The pink colour can develop for various reasons. The colour can be due to inclusions of microscopic aligned silicate mineral fibres, created by impurities of titanium, manganese or iron and in some laboratory grown rose quartz, impurities of aluminium and phosphorous are used to create the pink colour.

These stones have been fully tumbled to develop a smooth polished finish.
