Picture Nguni Unprocessed, Rough Stones
Picture Nguni is a jasper with bands and patterns that resemble the markings on Nguni cattle. Both the stones and the Nguni cattle are found in South Africa.
The cryptocrystalline structure of the stones contains various minerals that impart colours in patterns and bands.
Jasper, an aggregate of microgranular quartz and/or chalcedony and other mineral phases, is an opaque, impure variety of silica, usually red, yellow, brown or green in colour.
Unlike agate, jasper is opaque meaning that light does not shine through it.

It is important to see the pictures to know exactly what the appearance is. Our pictures do not showcase the best, they are as realistic as possible and include a R1 coin to demonstrate the actual size.
