Quartz is crystalline silica with chemical formula SiO2. Quartz has a trigonal crystal structure.
Prasiolite is a very rare natural green quartz crystal. Almost all green quartz crystals are made by treatment of other crystals such as amethyst. These stones are a macro-cystalline form of quartz.
