Green Chert Small Tumbled Stones

Green Chert is cryptocrystalline quartz, usually of biological origin.
The individual crystals that make up chert are so small that it fractures into shapes more characteristic of glass than of crystals. Chert stones were formed into arrow heads by Stone Age craftsman.
Chert is often of biological origin (organic) but may also occur inorganically as a chemical precipitate or a diagenetic replacement (e.g. petrified wood).

These stones have been fully tumbled to develop a smooth polished finish.

Description of Green Chert

These are interesting stones that have been fully tumbled to develop a rounded shape with smooth glossy finish (polished appearance).
Their colour is best described as medium olive green. They are darker than Aventurine Green and not as bright as Buddstone. They are slightly translucent giving depth to their appearance.
